How to Play

Create a bird paradise, spot beautiful birds, and make them your friends!

Build up your backyard to attract birds:

• 

• Each bird likes a few items. It will visit your yard only if you have an item there it likes.
• The more a bird likes an item (the more hearts it has), the more it is attracted to the item.
• High quality items, which cost bird bucks, are much more attractive than other items, heart for heart.

• 

• The more items you have that a bird likes, the more likely it is to visit your yard. More than one can come at time!
• High quality items that cost bird bucks are much more attractive than other items.
• Remember, if your yard has no items that a bird likes, that bird will not come to your yard.

Almost all items are like by one kind of bird or another. Birds feeders, bird food, bird houses, and bird baths can be extra useful.

• 

• Birds get hungry. Place feeders in your yard. Remember to put food in the feeders!
• Different types of bird will eat different kinds of food. Feed a hungry bird the food it likes and it may give you a reward.

• 

• Birds will use bird baths and bird houses. Every so often you can click on them to refresh them and collect your rewards for providing them.

Make the birds your friends. Get to know them!

• Click on birds to spot them. Then, use your binoculars to find them.
• Once you spot a bird for the first time, it will sing its song for you. Keep spotting it to get to Bronze level friendship.
• At Bronze, the bird trusts you enough to dance for you. You can now use your camera to take a picture of the dances. Better pictures get better rewards and win friendship faster!

• 

• Keep spotting birds to build up friendship with them. You unlock new features and abilities at Silver and Gold level friendship.
• At Gold, the bird and you are close friends, and the bird will take up residence in your yard!

And more!

• 

• Visit friends for rewards and to spot birds in their yards. Make a wish at the wishing well in your friends' yards! You can wish for scratch (money), energy, or experience; once per day per well.
• Level up to unlock new items that can attract new birds.
• Play the goals to get additional rewards and discover the secret stories of the birds.

Performance Tips

Various activities can use up a lot of computer resources (memory, bandwidth, or processor capacity) and affect the performance of the game. Here's how to get the best performance for the game:

1. Don't run videos in your browser while playing the game. Anyway, it'd be a shame if you missed the visit of a super-rare bird to your yard while you were vidding...
2. Don't run major Java apps in your browser while playing the game. Some of these can really chew up memory in some browsers.
3. Don't run a lot of intensive apps on your computer while playing the game. Exit the ones you don't need at the moment. Are your really going to edit a movie while playing the game?
4. Heavy Internet use can affect the game. While playing the game, avoid things like downloading files, uploading files, using an Internet phone over your computer, etc. Internet phone - don't you have a wireless phone?
